This closet was set-up as a coat closet when my husband and I bought our current home. It is nowhere near the front door, and was much more functional to us as an appliance area, for kitchen overflow items. Prior to updating the closet system, there was a plastic shelving unit we put to use, but it was not very functional. Storage bins of most large sizes would not fit on that plastic shelving.
